A vintage antique vibe. House turned restaurant. Close tables, unique decor. A smallish place but has more outside accommodation at the back. Dim lighting mixed with a hipster atmosphere inside. Not the average Viet restaurant!
The food was very delicious, different and interesting. Everything was good, especially the Bone Marrow. The Yam Smash also was delicious in a textural way. I wished the portions were bigger though but the dishes were priced relatively modest so could try them all! Their menu is limited but every dish seemed complimentary to each other.
A nice speakeasy/diner twist, cool experience to hang out and grab some interesting and good food. -

This place has my second favourite ceviche dish in town. Tiger's Milk Ceviche. Definitely try it! I'd also recommend the Mushroom Vermicelli. So flavorful.
The atmosphere is very unique and interesting. It's basically an old house made into a restaurant. I love this. Great to see the conversion. Lots on the walls to look at with interesting lightening which makes for some great pictures. Definitely a great date place.
I've been here a few times to take different friends and each one has been very impressed with the food! -

Party of four visited here on a Friday night around 7:30. The restaurant is located in a house, and like everyone else has mentioned, there truly is no signage. but its just next to the big bar on the corner. We got sat in a cute table right in front of the big, open front window which was nice. The vibe is very cool and fun and frivolous, I liked the decor.
We ordered a round of cocktails (expensive by my standards, but in line with Toronto overall). They were good, but not really worth the $14 price tag. I had the Lychee Foco Loco- good, but veryyyy sweet.
I then had the Tiger's Milk Ceviche, which is honestly one of the best ceviches I've ever had. No photos were taken because it was inhaled so quickly. Followed that up with the So Fly Rice, which again was really good but it was mostly just veggies and rice- not a lot of protein. My friends got the Mushroom Vermicelli and it was absolutely delicious- I would order that over the rice next time.
The grill platter, which I know is a famous item there, looked amazing although to me, the portions looked small for the price. That was a little bit of the theme overall, but it is definitely an interesting place to dine at with some out of the norm fusion and I would be back!!
Also shoutout to the staff- our waiter was friendly and cool and so was the chef downstairs by the bathroom who let me talk to him about the korean music he was playing and Japan for probably far longer than he wanted haha :) -

I don't what to tell you, this is a place you have to try yourself to truly understand what I mean when I say this is one of the best places in Toronto !! Located in a total unrecognizable townhouse, pinky's ca phe is a definition of "a hole in the wall". But the interior is a tightly spaced, super trendy Vietnamese spot with post-rock music and cool staff. They have a limited menu and everything here is pretty much amazing. Be cautious though that this is not a cheap place. But I think you get what you pay for. Definitely not an everyday spot but if you're feeling special, this place will not disappoint. My favourites are the fry rice, the fried chicken, the bone marrow and their drinks are sweet and tropical. Already came here twice, will come here again.

This was raved as one of the best bars in the city and all the hip blogs told me it was a must-see happening place so a girlfriend and I finally made our way out into the west end. Maybe it's because I've been told I have been un-cool, I thought this could be an opportunity to reverse this by associating myself with hip and cool establishments. As I entered this off-the-radar dive-bar underground feeling establishment, I realized nothing could ever make me cool.... and this is why.
FOOD/VALUE
The food was great tasting, I don't know why they had to smash my softshell crab fried rice, it just ruined the presentation and I couldn't upload a great instagram shot :( We were so hungry after the chicken wings (2 drumsticks, 2 wings), we decided to put in an order for the Beef Curry Pot ($16) after and it came with a banh mi to dip. Not much beef brisket for that price too.
I feel it didn't justify the prices. The Drinks (Foco Locos) were great tasting and fruity - they were $14 with a very light hand of alcohol for a can of juice that you could buy in Chinatown for $1.50. So yes, it wasn't great value.
PRICE: 2.5/5
the price is what stands out here. It was ~$80 for three dishes and two drinks, a bit on the higher end for a place that's tucked away on Clinton.
I mean, $17 for a sharing plate of fried rice... I hate myself for making this comparison but I could buy a huge plate of softshell crab fried rice at about the same price at Congee Wong and feed a family. So be warned, these are asian fusion prices and just be prepared that what you're getting is the markup that goes along with food that has a spin to it.
EXPERIENCE: 3/5
I have to admit it is pretty awesome to have an open-space kitchen, bar and to feel like you're eating in someone's living room. The decor was so appropriate with the off the cuff fairy lights and very unique with antiquish memorabilia and decor from Vietnam/70s.
